Lay out a rack, then plan how you would run it: where each ball goes, where
the cue ball should land for the next shot, and how it gets there. The table
is a 9 ft table to scale (100 × 50 in cloth, 2.25 in balls).
1. Put the balls on the table
- Drag a ball from the tray onto the table, or tap it in the tray and then tap the table.
- Drag a ball to move it. Drag it off the table, double-click it, or select it and press
Delete to put it back in the tray.
- Share layout makes a link to the balls alone, with no pockets, zones or lines.
Anyone who opens it gets the same rack to plan their own way.
- A shared layout opens with the balls locked, so planning can't move one by accident.
Locked balls can still be selected and planned. 🔒 Balls locked (by Balls and Lines)
unlocks them; 🔓 Lock balls locks your own layout too.
2. Plan each ball
Click a ball to select it. The bar under the buttons shows what it has, and its × buttons
clear each part.
- Pocket: click a pocket. A dotted line runs from the back of the ball, away from the
pocket: the line the cue ball is on for a straight-in shot. Click the pocket again to clear it.
- Set zone (Z): where the cue ball should end up. A target ring goes there,
with a good zone around it along the line to the ball.
- Widen (W): outside the good zone, stretches the OK zone out to that spot.
Use it on more than one side to grow the OK zone further.
- Movement (M): the cue ball's path from the ghost ball (pick the pocket
first). Click a rail for each bounce, then click the cloth where the cue ball stops.
- Draw zone (G): draw a good zone by hand, one corner at a time. Click the
first corner again, double-click or press Enter to close it.
With a mouse, the keys act where the mouse is, so keep it over the table. The buttons
(shown on phones and tablets) work the other way round: tap the button, then tap the table.
3. Fine-tune
- Click a zone to show its points. Drag a point to move it, or click it and nudge it with the
arrow keys (Shift for bigger steps).
- Click a zone's edge to add a point there; drag an edge to slide that side.
- Double-click a point, or select it and press Delete, to remove it.
- Drag the target ring, or the points of a movement path. Bounces stay on the rails.
4. Lines
Switch to Lines (L) to draw free lines: drag across the table, or click the
start and then the end. Click a line to move it, drag its ends, or change its color, width and
arrow. Balls (B) goes back.
Showing and saving
- The Show checkboxes under the tray hide pocket lines (P), targets, zones or
movement.
- Save image downloads a PNG of the table.
- Your board saves itself in this browser. Undo (Ctrl+Z) and
Redo (Ctrl+Y) cover every change, even Clear table.
On a phone
- The whole board fits the screen. Held upright, the table stands on end so it's bigger;
sideways, it fills the left and the buttons sit on the right.
- Pinch the table to zoom in on the balls, and move two fingers to look around.
Fit table shows the whole table again. (With a mouse, Ctrl+wheel zooms.)
- Use the buttons above the table for Set zone, Widen, Movement and the rest. Swipe the
row of buttons, the ball's bar or the tray sideways to see more.
- ☰ holds Share layout, Save image, Clear table, Help and the Show checkboxes.
- Double-tap a ball or a point to remove it, or select it and tap Delete.
